Leaving Patreon

Hi friends! After some thought, I have decided that it’s time to shut down my Patreon as I find it has become a source of stress.

As some of you know I work full time (and then some, at times) as an artist at a video game company. I also have a family and making comics is for the most part just a fun thing I do in my spare time. Making a little income on something you spend this much time on has of course been great!

What’s not so great is the Patreon model where my readers get charged whether I create comics or not. I know a lot of you don’t mind but it still doesn’t sit right with me and I always feel a little guilty when doing other stuff in my free time.

I am however not planning to stop making comics, I just want to take back a little control and do it on my own terms. I will still be posting new stuff on Instagram, Facebook, and on my website.

For those of you who are interested in continuing to support my work, I have set up a page on ko-fi which I think is a lot more suitable for my scale of production.

On this site, it will be up to you if you want to do a recurring monthly thing or if you just want to throw a few bucks in the tip jar from time to time. There’s also the option of ordering prints and commissions, which is pretty dang cool!

You can find the new page over here: https://ko-fi.com/pastillustrator

I’m stopping Patreon from billing you as of now – no need for any action on your part. If you have been charged recently and would like a refund, send me a message and we’ll make it happen 🙂

So thank you all so much for supporting my work! I had low expectations when launching this thing and the response has been truly touching. You are all great! 🙌💖

TLDR: Patreon is stressing me out, moving on to ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/pastillustrator
